MARION — The Marion Park District has announced a slate of events for this week. The nature center will be open from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, and a stargazing program is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. at Tallgrass Trail.

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, is inviting area singers to join the 2016 Assumption Choir, which, along with a brass quintet, will lead music for the Vigil Mass of the Assumption at Shrine Park at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 14.

The Wyandot County Community Foundation now is accepting applications for its 2016 grant program. The community foundation will award a number of small grants to Wyandot County 501(c)3 organizations, schools or government units to support their programs.

Community Christian Center, 10657 TH 122, Upper Sandusky, will host a lawn fete and social fundraiser from 4-7 p.m. Saturday to benefit Open Door Resource Center.
