African penguin to visit MCL

SYCAMORE — The WAVE Foundation of the Newport Aquarium will bring a live African penguin to the Mohawk Community Library at 2 p.m. Oct. 15. There will be crafts, a discussion on African penguins and a penguin-themed story time beginning at 11 a.m.

Programs set at Lowe-Volk Park

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District has announced a handful of upcoming programs. A program on wooly bears sponsored by the Crawford Park District will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598.

Red Cross schedules blood drive

TOLEDO — The American Red Cross is urging eligible donors to give blood and platelets this fall to help restock the shelves following a significant summer shortage to ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need. Upcoming blood drives in Upper Sandusky will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, 885 N. Sandusky Ave.; 12-6 p.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Community, 850 Marseilles Ave.; and from 12-5 p.m. Friday at the Upper Sandusky Community Library, 301 N. Sandusky Ave.
