Westbrook Assisted Living and Memory Care will offer trick or treat from 5:30-7 p.m. Oct. 29 during the city of Upper Sandusky’s trick-or-treating festivities. Residents of Westbrook will distribute candy for costume-clad youth, and free treats, snacks and drinks will be provided by Westbrook staff.

FINDLAY — Kelsey Tainsh, a brain cancer survivor, world-champion wakeboarder and actor, will speak about overcoming challenges Friday at the University of Findlay’s Ritz Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Historical Society will rededicate the 1910 Melmore Town Hall at 7 p.m. Thursday with a concert by the Honey Creek Preservation Jazz Band.

St. Paul Lutheran Church will host a one-day retreat, Sewing for Soles, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 19. The retreat is a newly formed mission created for the purpose of providing shoes for children in need in the community.

CAREY — The potato chip crew at the Our Lady of Consolation volunteer bakery has doubled its production for the bakery’s sale Saturday and Sunday. Potato chips proved so popular at the September sale that the crew decided to increase its output two-fold.
