Red Cross schedules blood drive

TOLEDO — The American Red Cross is urging eligible donors to give blood and platelets this fall to help restock the shelves following a significant summer shortage to ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need. Upcoming blood drives in Upper Sandusky will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, 885 N. Sandusky Ave.; 12-6 p.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Community, 850 Marseilles Ave.; and from 12-5 p.m. Friday at the Upper Sandusky Community Library, 301 N. Sandusky Ave.

Younger professional established through collaboration with WCYP

The Wyandot County Young Professionals on Friday presented a $700 check to founding members of the Upper Sandusky Younger Professionals. The USYP was established to create an organization that offers a readily available opportunity for students attending high school who want to partake in activities related to the pursuit of a career.

Eastern Star group wins chapter award

Upper Sandusky Warpole Chapter No. 366 was named an outstanding chapter at the Sept. 24 statewide meeting of the Grand Chapter of Ohio Order of the Eastern Star in Dayton. The award recognizes chapter excellence in the areas of charity and community service, chapter social activities, performance of chapter officers and communications.
