Energy assistance program continues FINDLAY — The Home Energy Assistance Program Winter Crisis Program began Nov. 1 and will conclude on March 31 or as long as funds remain available, and online scheduling now is available. The Winter Crisis Program was created to provide financial assistance, one time per heating season, to income-eligible households who are threatened with disconnection of their heating source, have service already disconnected, need to establish new service, transfer service or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel. Schmidt Machine to sponsor US FFA scholarship Schmidt Machine Company announced this week it will sponsor a $1,000 national FFA scholarship for the 2015-16 scholarship year for an Upper Sandusky High School student. The scholarship, which is in cooperation with AGCO, is available through a program introduced in 2011 that provides more that 115 scholarships through more than 50 Massey Ferguson and Gleaner dealers across the United States. WCHD urging residents to test for radon in their homes January is National Radon Action Month, and the Wyandot County Health District is urging county residents to protect their health by testing their homes for radon gas.
