Red Cross to train aspiring sitters FINDLAY — The American Red Cross North Central Ohio Chapter will offer a baby-sitter’s training course to help provide local youth ages of 11-15 with the knowledge and skills they need to care for young children. The baby-sitter’s training teaches young people how to care for infants and children, handle emergencies such as injuries and accidents, recognize safety and hygiene issues, and communicate with parents. Mental health first aid training set Mental health first aid training is being offered to residents of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot counties from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky. Sponsored by Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services and funded by the Mental Health Board of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties, the eight-hour course will teach attendees how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis.
