Angeline announces Stuff the Bus Food Drive event

Angeline School and Industries will collect non-perishable food items for county food pantries throughout March in observance of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month for the Stuff the Bus Food Drive. Donations can be dropped off at Angeline on CH 44 in Upper Sandusky during normal business hours.

Humane Society: February 21, 2017

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a red male Chihuahua, a neutered male yellow cat and a black male cat.

Winning artists

For the sixth consecutive year, Riverdale art students took home top prizes in the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership’s Rain Barrel Decorating Contest. The Wizard of Oz scenes painted on a water barrel competed with approximately 40 other schools and captured not only first-place honors, but was named the People’s Choice winner.

CASA seeks advocates for abused, neglected kids

FREMONT — Court Appointed Special Advocates of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties is looking for citizens in the community to advocate for abused, neglected and dependent children. In order to become a CASA volunteer, an application must be completed, as well as a background check and 30 hours of training.

WMH scholarships now available

The Wyandot Memorial Hospital Foundation will award five $1,000 scholarships this spring to Wyandot County residents planning careers in healthcare. Scholarship applications are available at the hospital’s information desk in the lobby and are due March 15.
