CAREY — The Our Lady of Consolation volunteer bakery will have chili, ham and bean and chicken noodle soups for sale Saturday and Sunday. Homemade potato chips made from locally-grown potatoes will be sold at a special price.

FREMONT — Court Appointed Special Advocates of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties is looking for citizens in the community to advocate for abused, neglected and dependent children. In order to become a CASA volunteer, an application must be completed, as well as a background check and 30 hours of training.

MARION — TGMA Gospel Music Promotions will present the ninth annual Chili Cook-off and Gospel Sing on Saturday. The cook-off begins at 4 p.m., followed by singing from 5-8 p.m. at the Salvation Army gym, 317 W. Church St., Marion.

Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a black and white male pit bull-Husky, a tiger and white female cat, a tri-colored female beagle, a blue tick female beagle, a blue and white long-haired spotted heeler-collie, a yellow male cat, a female black and grey Irish wolfhound, a white female pit bull, and a tan female pit bull.

BUCYRUS — The people of Bucyrus United Methodist Church will host an Ash Wednesday worship service at 7 p.m. March 1 at the worship center located at the corner of Walnut Street and Hopley Avenue in Bucyrus. Go and experience the significance of the holy day of turning hearts back over to God and the Ashes and Holy Communion.

The annual Wyandot County men’s Lenten luncheons will kick off Ash Wednesday, March 1 at First Lutheran Church, 601 N. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky. The meal will be served at 12 p.m. and attendees will be dismissed by 1 p.m.

Brooke Steward, a local nurse with a Bachelor of Science in nursing from The Ohio State University, will be the guest speaker at a Parkinson’s Disease support meeting at 2 p.m. March 5 at Irv and Janice Woods’ home, 532 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky.

The annual Lenten lunches for Wyandot County women will be from 12-1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 318 W. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky. A $4 donation is suggested.
