Senior citizens age 60 and older may register now for Wyandot County Council on Aging’s annual summer picnic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7 at Ellis Lake, 7430 TH 124, Upper Sandusky. There will be horse shoes, cornhole, nature walks, a euchre tournament, board games, live music and an ice cream truck.

FOREST — Learn the story of Travis Freeman during a showing of the movie “23 Blast” at 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 6 at Forest-Jackson Public Library, 102 W. Lima St. Freeman will be the speaker at Tree Town Festival church in the park service at 10:30 a.m. July 9.

“Build a Better World” is the theme of Upper Sandusky Public Library’s 2017 Summer Reading Program for all ages. Patrons are invited to try something new this summer: at home, in the community, throughout the country, and around the globe.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date.  Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a tri-colored female beagle mix, a spayed female tiger cat, a black neutered male cat, a young neutered male Siamese cat, a blonde female pomeranian and a neutered tan male Lab.

It is true that an ordinary man, without any authorization, without representing any organization, without any institutional support, came to the banks of the Sandusky River just over 200 years ago.

BUCYRUS — Wynford school put on a career-based reality store for students at the end of the school year. Geared toward students in middle school through high school, the event is conducted through the guidance department and ran by seventh- through ninth-grade counselor Tiffany Roush.
