Fostoria church to host September Fest

FOSTORIA — St. John’s United Church of Christ will host its September Fest from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, located off Ohio 587, south of Fostoria. The menu will include chicken, roast beef, sloppy joe and hot dog sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, chicken noodle soup and homemade pies.

Meeting minutes: September 9, 2016

Worthy matron Roberta Ekleberry welcomed members to a recent meeting of Warpole chapter No. 366 Order of the Eastern Star. The conductress introduced Marla Barber, deputy grand matron, and Darcie Miller, grand representative of Oregon in Ohio.

WSOS offering water, wastewater courses

FREMONT — The Wood-Sandusky-Ottawa-Seneca Community Action Commission Inc. again will offer a water treatment course and a wastewater treatment and collection course this fall. Both courses take place in 16-week, two-night-per-week sessions and will prepare students for state certification exams in either water treatment or wastewater treatment and collection, according to a press release from the CAC.

‘Let’s Talk’ forum scheduled in Tiffin

TIFFIN — Community Action for Reducing Substance Abuse will host a “Let’s Talk” town hall Sept. 22 with Cindy Koumoutzis of Ohio Change Addiction Now. The meeting will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. in Osceola Theatre at Tiffin University. Light refreshments and free resources will be offered.
