WHARTON — The Wharton Festival car, truck and motorcycle show is set for Saturday at Wharton Park. The event sponsored by Koehler’s Garage goes on rain or shine.

NEVADA — The Nevada Festival is Saturday, with a wrestling event the night before. Savage Anarchy Wrestling will present a show at 6 p.m. Friday at Nevada Park.

Wyandot County Prostate Cancer Support Group meets for an open-forum discussion at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Bowman and Kirkland conference rooms on the lower level of Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. The locally-organized support group is for men of all ages.

FOREST — Forest vacation Bible school calls all heroes to a Bible adventure at Forest United Methodist Church. Veggietales VBS — “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything!” is from 6-8:15 p.m. today through July 14.

Upper Sandusky Community Library patrons now can automatically renew library materials. Three days before items are due, patrons will receive an email reminder.

HHWP Community Action Commission’s HEAP 2017 Summer Crisis Program continues through Aug. 31or until funding and/or equipment is fully exhausted. This program may provide a payment up to $300 toward a regulated or up to $500 toward an unregulated electric bill and/or a window air conditioner and/or a tower oscillating electric fan.

WHARTON — Wharton First Church of God recently hosted a mother-daughter luncheon. Fifty people attended the event at the Beech Grove Church Fellowship Hall. Tables were decorated with red, white and blue covers, with potted flowers.

Twenty-one middle school students recently were confirmed at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. The Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Charles Singler (center) and attended by the confirmation candidates’ sponsors, families, friends and fellow parishioners.

The third annual Koda Bear Festival is from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at Harrison Smith Park, 525 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky. Koda Bear Foundation was created in memory of Koda McKay Johnson, who was stillborn.

FOREST — Gormley Park is the best place to view Saturday’s fireworks, according to a news release from the Tree Town Festival Committee, Forest Fire Department and Jackson-Forest Emergency Medical Services. The fireworks are at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
