Upper library coloring contest entries due today

Upper Sandusky Community Library announces its “What I Want to be When I Grow Up” coloring contest for children in kindergarten through fifth grades. Children and parents may pick up coloring pages at participating area businesses, and return completed pages to the library by Aug. 11.

Mohawk senior Gucker recalls time at ’17 Buckeye Girls State

McCUTCHENVILLE — Buckeye Girls State is a week-long program designed to educate Ohio’s young women in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of good citizenship. By getting involved in the process, BGS delegates learn more about city, county and state government in one week than they will in an entire semester of high school.

Special choir forming at Shrine

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation invites area singers to join the 2017 Assumption Choir. The choir, along with a brass quintet, will lead music for more than 10,000 people attending the Vigil Mass of the Assumption at 9:30 p.m. Monday at Shrine Park.

BuyWay Sales begin Thurs.

The Wyandot County Visitors Bureau announced the 2017 Lincoln Highway BuyWay and the Upper Sandusky Garage Sales are Thursday through Saturday. The way the event will be promoted locally has changed.
