Harpster holds alumni banquet

60-year class

The 103rd Harpster High School alumni banquet was held April 28 in the Upper Sandusky High School cafeteria. Sue Rothermel offered the welcome and invocation followed by the “Star Spangled Banner” sung by Pippa Rothermel.

Bank awards scholarships

SYCAMORE — First National Bank of Sycamore recently awarded eight students at Mohawk High School a scholarship of $250 each. Parker Brown, Megan Gillig, Odessa Harrington, Chelsea Higgins, Bryce O’Flaherty, Ashley Ohl, Elise Stuckey and Nicholas Theis all met the criteria of completing an essay on what community banking means to them.

Forest library hosting The Storytellers

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will host The Storytellers at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gormley Park as part of its summer reading program. Their animated storytelling styles use multiple voices and uncanny vocal effects to captivate audiences. Music accompanies their stories.

Speakers named for Old Mission

Old Mission Church speakers for this year have been announced. They are Chief Ted Roll, June 3; Jim Stauffer, Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, June 10; Betsy Bowen, John Stewart United Methodist Church, June 17; Kathleen Shuck, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, June 24; and Jay Scott, Mud Church, July 1.

Sowers to share at Mohawk library

SYCAMORE — Kick off to Summer reading at the Mohawk Community Library will feature local country recording artist Eric Sowers at 6 p.m. Monday. Sowers, a native of Sycamore, will share his musical journey and some original music.
