The Wyandot County Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2018 grant program and will be awarding grants to Wyandot County 501(c)(3) organizations, schools or governmental units to support their programs. Grant applications for specific projects that meet the educational, cultural, health, social services or recreational needs of Wyandot County residents will be considered.

DEFIANCE — Motorists who don’t yield for vehicles with the right of way cause far too many crashes each year, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Crashes caused by this violation, known as failure to yield, were a primary cause in nearly one in five crashes in Ohio.

McCUTCHENVILLE — Trinity United Church of Christ is hosting its chicken barbecue dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday in McCutchenville. The menu includes a half chicken plus choice of two sides (homemade potato salad, baked beans or applesauce), rolls, butter and drinks.

Wyandot County Council on Aging “Seniors on the Go” recently returned from a three-day trip to West Virginia. Train rides departed from Elkins and Durbin, West Virginia.
