Foundation accepting applications

The Wyandot County Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2018 grant program and will be awarding grants to Wyandot County 501(c)(3) organizations, schools or governmental units to support their programs. Grant applications for specific projects that meet the educational, cultural, health, social services or recreational needs of Wyandot County residents will be considered.

Patrol emphasizes yielding importance

DEFIANCE — Motorists who don’t yield for vehicles with the right of way cause far too many crashes each year, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Crashes caused by this violation, known as failure to yield, were a primary cause in nearly one in five crashes in Ohio.

USCL showcasing talent

The Upper Sandusky Community Library will have open stage hours to showcase talent from participants of all ages throughout the month of June. Do you sing, dance or play a musical instrument?

Bridge Hospice offers training

FINDLAY — Bridge Home and Hospice, a nonprofit organization providing home health care and hospice services, will offer training courses for prospective volunteers beginning June 14 at the Hub Conference Room at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, and will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. for six consecutive Thursdays.

Annual car show Friday

FOSTORIA — Independence House is hosting its annual car show from 5-7 p.m. Friday in the Independence House parking lot, 1000 Independence Road, Fostoria. Classic cars will be displayed and the event includes food and refreshments.

Wyandot County Council on Aging “Seniors on the Go” recently returned from a three-day trip to West Virginia. Train rides departed from Elkins and Durbin, West Virginia.
