MARION — Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced July 20 as Distracted Driving Enforcement Day. The focus on distracted driving has increased nationally.

CAREY — The Dorcas Carey Public Library is hosting a community scavenger hunt during the months of June and July. Stop in at the library to pick up a list of participating businesses.

Jim and Wilma (Harbour) Savidge, of Upper Sandusky, are celebrating their 50th anniversary. They were married July 20, 1968, at Christ Lutheran Church, Carey.

BUCYRUS — Troopers assigned to the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are scheduled to participate in Advanced Trooper Tactical Training. This training is a regionally required update for all troopers assigned to the Bucyrus District.

VANLUE — The annual Vanlue Festival is July 26-28. The 5K run and walk begins at 7 p.m. July 26, with a kids fun run at 8 p.m.

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, welcomes everyone to join them Aug. 6-14 for the annual novena to Our Lady of Consolation in preparation for the feast of her assumption. The annual celebration of Mary’s assumption into heaven is the largest event at the Shrine.

The Wyandot County Visitors Bureau announces its annual sponsorship and coordination of the Lincoln Highway BuyWay & Community Garage/Yard Sales the second weekend in August, Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 9-11. BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has events planned for next week. Canoeing is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pines Reservoir, Stetzer Road, Bucyrus.

FOREST — Cut the Craft is 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. July 26 at the Forest-Jackson Public Library. Adults and teens are welcome to join to make popsicle stick washi tape bracelets.

The blood drive scheduled for July 26 at the Elks in Upper Sandusky has had its hours changed. It will now take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
