Fish fry set for Friday

FOREST — The McVitty VFW Post 1182 and the American Legion post 259, of Forest, will hold the next monthly fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Post, Meals are all- you-can-eat. Tickets may be purchased at the door for a $9 donation. Carry-out is also available.

Park district to have events

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced upcoming events. Toddler Trot: Talkin’ Turkeys is 5 p.m. Thursday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, 3 miles north of U.S. 30. Tis the season for turkeys.

Dot journaling offered

SYCAMORE — Getting organized, simplifying life and tracking habits and goals are some of the things that can be learned at the Introduction to Dot Journaling from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mohawk Community Library. Sample pages and ideas will be provided.

Some candidates pledge to fix democracy

PORT CLINTON — Less than a week before today’s 2018 midterm election, eight candidates running for Congress in Ohio had pledged to fix democracy. The pledge signers include Aftab Pureval (District 1), Jill Schiller (2), Janet Garrett (4), Michael Galbraith (5), Shawna Roberts (6), Dr. Vanessa Enoch (8), Marcy Kaptur (9) and Rick Neal (15).

Humane Society: November 6, 2018

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a large neutered male tiger cat with collar and tags, a white and yellow neutered male cat, a tri-color shepherd-boxer mix, a German Shepherd, a female tiger cat, a female black and white shepherd, a gray tiger cat with one eye, an older neutered male redbone hound and a tan and black neutered male Chihuahua.

Meeting minutes: November 6, 2018

President Sandy Hemmerly called the Oct. 29 meeting of the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild to order with 26 members present. A moment of silence was observed for active member Margaret Chandler, who died last week. The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.
