Sears Woods closed Saturday

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced Sears Woods State Nature Preserve will be closed to the public Saturday for a controlled deer hunt sponsored by The Division of Natural Areas and Preserves and the Crawford Park District.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced upcoming events. Nature Hike: Cooperrider Bog is 9 a.m. Saturday at Cooperrider-Kent Bog State Nature Preserve. Meet at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, 3 miles north of U.S. 30.

OLC bakery having sale this weekend

CAREY — The volunteers at the Our Lady of Consolation bakery are preparing for Thanksgiving, making lots of pumpkin pies and dinner rolls for its sale Nov. 17 and 18. Also featured for the fall season will be grape pies, plus apple and Dutch apple pies will be sold at a special price. The bakery was started by the late Father Paul Faroh and benefits Shrine and parish projects.

Bloomfield to have concert at Harpster UMC

Jim Bloomfield will perform a gospel concert as part of the Blue Christmas service at 6 p.m. Sunday at Harpster United Methodist Church, 17508 Cherokee St., Harpster. A love offering will be taken. For more information, call 740-496-2551.

Joint meeting

BUCYRUS — Lambda President Pamela Henney welcomed 26 members and guests to the joint meeting of Lambda and Kappa chapters of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 10. She introduced Delta Kappa Gamma State President Meier Bauer, who discussed the various projects and changes that are being made since the international convention.

Warpole Chapter gets state recognition

Outstanding performance

Warpole Chapter No. 366, Upper Sandusky, was named an “Outstanding Chapter” at its statewide meeting of the Grand Chapter of Ohio, Order of the Eastern Star, held recently at the Kalahari Convention Center in Sandusky. The award recognizes chapter excellence in the areas of charity and community service, chapter social activities, performance of chapter officers and communications.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a large black female cat, a black and white female pit bull, a white and gray male cat, a black male poodle, an older neutered male gray cat and a black and white female cat.
