Gabriel Downing, 3-year-old son of Levi and Beth Downing of Carey, recently graduated from the Help Me Grow Home Visiting program. The program is a voluntary support program for pregnant mothers and new parents.

Blanchard Valley Health System offers scholarships

FINDLAY — Blanchard Valley Health System is offering educational scholarships to individuals pursuing health care careers. BVHS associates and current college students may be eligible to apply. Humane Society: February 12, 2019

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a tri-color male English shepherd, a black and white male mastiff-Lab mix, an older brown male Pomeranian, a red and white spayed female Shiba Inu dog and a black and white border collie.

Olympic winner Snyder to speak at Bucyrus event

BUCYRUS — American freestyle wrestler Kyle Snyder will be the featured speaker at the men’s community breakfast at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the Bucyrus Community Hospital cafeteria. Snyder, a champion at Ohio State University, was the youngest Olympic gold medalist and the youngest world champion in American wrestling history.

ODOT now accepting applications for Paint the Plow

LIMA — The Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 now is accepting applications for this year’s Paint the Plow program through March 15 from high schools and vocational school groups within its eight-county region, including Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot counties.

Cycling Savvy course being offered March 7

The Ohio Bicycle Federation will sponsor Cycling Savvy courses to Ohio cycling clubs and advocacy groups, including a free Truth and Techniques of Traffic Cycling class at 5:30 p.m. March 7 at the Upper Sandusky EMS building. Organizations may choose either the Truth and Techniques course for cyclists or the Ride Leader Course for ride leaders.
