BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced its May program schedule. Spring Bird Migration is 9 a.m. Saturday at Sears Woods State Nature Preserve, 1486 Mount Zion Road. Meet Crawford Park District naturalist Warren Uxley at Sears Woods parking lot for a program on spring bird migration. More migratory birds pass through Ohio in early May than at any other time of the year. This massive movement of warblers, tanagers, flycatchers, vireos and thrushes, to name just a few, is truly spectacular.

BUCYRUS — Coach John Ellenwood, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Ashland University will be the guest speaker for the Men’s Community Breakfast at 7 a.m. May 8 at the Bucyrus Community Hospitial Cafeteria. Ellenwood grew up in Sylvania where he graduated from Sylvania Northview in 1995, and currently resides in Ashland with his wife Abbi and children, John, 12, Mary, 10, Brian, 6 and Aubrey, 3.

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, in Carey, will be celebrating a special mass in honor of Saint Peregrine, patron saint of those affected by cancer, at 7 p.m. May 3 in the Basilica. Anyone who is suffering from cancer, in remission from cancer, a cancer survivor and their loved ones and caregivers are especially invited to participate.

The Wyandot County Council on Aging will host its annual Spring Bazaar Thursday and Friday at the Senior Connection in Upper Sandusky. The bazaar will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
