TIFFIN — The National Theatre at The Ritz offers the perfect jump start to the weekend with its Friday Night Live series, which features live music and entertainment in a casual, intimate setting. Each Friday Night Live performance turns the spotlight on two or more artists of different genres. Some are local, some are regional and all are passionate about their art and showcasing their talents.

The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties is joining others throughout Ohio to show appreciation to first responders and front-line workers. ADAMH boards throughout the state would like to recognize and show appreciation to those individuals who give tirelessly to individuals and communities during times of need and to show appreciation for the work they do on a daily basis helping to save lives.

The 2019 Tammy Clifford Memorial 5K, now in its fifth year, is 5 p.m. May 18 at the Upper Sandusky New Reservoir, 11612 T.H. 60, in Upper Sandusky. Registration begins an hour before at 4 p.m.

Audiologist Courtney Thiel will provide free hearing screenings for individuals 60 and above 9-11:30 a.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. May 14, 23 and 31 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Appointments are required for the free screenings. The first 20 callers to schedule will receive a complimentary Beca House Coffee Co. beverage.

May is Older American’s Appreciation Month and the Wyandot County Council on Aging is hosting the annual senior fair, lunch and a show at Trinity Evangelical on May 17. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for the fair where there will be organizations with important information, pertinent topics and door prizes.

COLUMBUS — May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and the Ohio State Highway Patrol would like to remind motorcyclists to ride trained and sober. As summer approaches, motorists should be aware of an increase in motorcycles on the roadways.

The Community Christian Center and Open Door Resource Center present the second annual Cinco de Mayo Mexican buffet fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. May 4 at Open Door. Freshly prepared Mexican food available includes beef and chicken enchiladas, cheese qusadillas, a taco bar, taco salad, refried beans, Mexican rice, chips and salsa and Patti Spiegel’s “legendary” fried ice cream along with other desserts and drinks.

For households at 125% of the poverty level and below, HHWP Community Action Commission has reinstated water assistance. Guidelines are as follows $15,613 (one in family unit), $21,138 (two in family unit), $26,663 (three in family unit), $32,188 (four in family unit), $37,713 (five in family unit), $43,238 (six in family unit), $48,763 (seven in family unit) and $54,288 (eight in family unit). For each additional person, add $5,525.

The National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food drive is May 11. Community members are asked to put non-perishable donations in a bag by their mailboxes to be picked up by letter carriers and delivered to a local food bank.
