Humane Society: August 14, 2018

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include two black and white kittens, a tan and white female shepherd mix and a male blue tick hound.

Red Cross giving away Amazon cards to donors

FINDLAY — As summer winds down, the American Red Cross urges individuals to give blood and platelets now and help end an emergency summer blood shortage that began last month. A critical need remains as many regular donors delay giving to take final summer vacations and prepare for school to start.

BVH hosting program on eliminating acid reflux

FINDLAY — Blanchard Valley Hospital will host “Eliminate Acid Reflux, Heartburn and GERD,” part of the “Live and Learn” series, to educate the community about ways to remove acid reflux, heartburn and GERD through the new LINX procedure from 6-7 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Marathon Auditorium of BVH.

Fun day scheduled Thursday

CAREY — A back-to-school fun day for preschool through fifth-grade students is 1 p.m. Thursday in the children’s department at the Dorcas Carey Public Library. There will be bingo, crafts and snacks.
