Carey Shrine’s annual Novena currently underway CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey welcomes everyone to join them now through Aug. 14 for the annual novena to Our Lady of Consolation in preparation for the feast of her Assumption. The annual celebration of Mary’s Assumption into heaven is the largest event at the Shrine. Read More

20th annual Flag City BalloonFest begins today FINDLAY — The Flag City BalloonFest will host its 20th hot air balloon festival Aug. 9 – 11 at Emory Adams Park in Findlay. Spectators can look forward to a number of new events and enjoy returning favorites. Area campus notes: August 8, 2019 The Keller Scholarships were presented July 14, during the worship service at Mount Zion United Methodist Church by the Keller Family to Bailey Alspach and Emily Dotson. Emily is a MFA grad student at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, getting her Masters in theatre and film production and design. She has completed a scenic painting internship with the Seattle Repertory Theater and is interning at the Mansfield Renaissance Theater for the production of Matilda. She hopes to be a set designer for the television industry upon graduation. Read More
