Carey’s Precision Concrete Cutting featured as veteran-owned company in Ohio Business Profile

AREY — Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted recently named Carey’s Precision Concrete Cutting a featured veteran-owned business in November’s Ohio Business Profile. A construction company specializing in concrete projects, the business originated as a concrete-cutting division of San-Con Industries in 1997 under John Wyatt.

Century of service: Two retire from Sycamore Fire and Rescue

A lot has changed in the years since Jerry Clinger and Bob Hosterman first suited up in their fire-fighting rubber coats and hip boots a half-century ago. Clinger, a former Sycamore Fire chief for approximately 17 years, and Hosterman, a fire investigator for the past 15 years, recently tenured their resignations from the Sycamore Fire and Rescue.

One Stop Carry Out owners David and Lori McLaughlin are settling in as their first year as business owners winds down. David, a Carey native, and his wife acquired the one-stop shop on Carey’s South Vance Street in January and have developed relationships with their fair share of regular customers.

House fire

Multiple local fire departments responded to a house fire in Upper Sandusky on Tuesday morning. The Upper Sandusky, Carey and Pitt Township fire departments, Wyandot County Emergency Medical Services and the American Red Cross responded to the fire at the residence of Rueban and Rosa Rall at 410 Spring St.
