Rams hold off challenge from Bucks

Upper Sandusky shook up its rotation and at times looked shook up Friday against Buckeye Central. An 11-0 fourth-quarter run carried the Rams to a 61-54 win. Wes Vent had 26 points. “What’s nice about these kids is, they hate to lose and they just figure out a way to win. We’ve had games like this over the past couple of years, but they think they’re going to win no matter what,” Upper Sandusky coach Jeff Winslow said. “They just toughed this one out.”

Luzader, Bame help Carey rally for win

BUCYRUS — Challenged to step up in the second half, Carey did just that behind huge efforts by Trey Bame and Cody Luzader. The Blue Devils guards combined for 10 3-pointers and 39 points after halftime to help rally their team for a 76-66 overtime victory at Wynford on Friday night.

New Marathon pipeline to run from Harpster to Lima

Marathon Pipe Line LLC, a subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum Corporation headquartered in Findlay, is beginning construction on its newest addition to its transport services. A new pipeline will run from a location near Harpster and travel through Wyandot, Hardin and Allen counties to its destination at the Husky Refinery in Lima.

Buckeye Chuck saw his shadow during the annual Groundhog Day celebration this morning in Marion. Ohio’s official weather-predicting groundhog saw his shadow at 7:40 a.m., according to Paul James, program director at iHeart Media.

Whitehall tops Upper in regional semis

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — As a deficit continued to mount Wednesday evening, so did the frustration. Upper Sandusky lost its first six matches to fall behind 31-0 and lost a 46-24 decision to Whitehall-Yearling in the Division II Region 14 semifinals at Miami Trace Middle School.

Revised government mandates force changes to Angeline’s adult services

New state and federal mandates are forcing the Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities to shake things up at Angeline Industries or risk losing $380,000 a year in government funding. The WyBDD currently serves 90 adults with developmental disabilites. Sixteen work in various jobs throughout the county, 22 are part of Angeline Industries mobile crew that works at an Ohio Department of Transportation rest stop, and 52 work in a sheltered shop at Angeline on CH 44 in Upper Sandusky.
