Leeth, Sakash honored in Ukraine

The tables were turned on Marseilles native Charlotte Leeth during her yearly volunteer mission to Ukraine with former Sycamore resident Lana Sakash. Typically, it’s Leeth and Sakash who are handing out gifts for children at the orphanage in the town of Rativtsi, but they found themselves guests of honor at a surprise town celebration

Tigers set tone early against Rams

ATTICA — The tone for the entire game was set on the first offensive possessions for Seneca East and Upper Sandusky Friday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference game. Upper Sandusky went three-and-out, while Seneca East scored in just three plays: a 27-yard dash from Brock Martin followed by a 10-yard run from Martin and an 8-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Chase Foos to junior wideout D.J. Ruffing.

Party time

Upper Sandusky Head Start students ages 3-5 enjoy refreshments during the 5-star celebration at the Head Start open house Wednesday. The celebration included a star photobooth and star-themed crafts and games.

Honored

William West (center) poses with a plaque awarded to him by the Wyandot County Commissioners Wednesday. West donated $25,000 to the courthouse, which funded the lighting for the clock tower and dome.

Falcons sweep Tigers for 1st win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale dominated the first set and then won a pair of close sets to take its first victory of the season via a sweep, 25-11, 31-29, 25-23, over North Baltimore in Blanchard Valley Conference action Wednesday night.
