SYCAMORE — Carey had leads of at least four points in every set, but the Blue Devils let their advantage slip away three times and with it their chance of a Northern 10 Athletic Conference championship. The Warriors thrived playing from behind and came away with a 25-23, 17-25, 25-21, 25-23 victory that increases Buckeye Central’s lead in the N10 to two games.

Upper Sandusky continues to show it can be a pesky volleyball team, but Carey’s hitting talent prevailed in a 3-0 Blue Devils victory Monday in the Rams gym. Carey closed out a couple of close sets on the way to topping its county rival, 25-22, 25-22, 25-16.

Classic cars took over downtown Upper Sandusky from 2-8 p.m. Saturday at the Autumn Cruise.

Jaidyn Thiel scored two second-half goals, and the Upper Sandusky boys soccer team rallied past Mansfield Senior, 5-2, for its second win of the season.

BUCYRUS — The Wynford Local School District has eight new teachers this school year, including six in the elementary and two at the high school and junior high building. The new teachers include a mix of first-year professionals and those with previous experience.

The courthouse beautification project, which began this past May, was updated for fall this past week. The summer petunias were replaced with mums during the fair with hope they would bloom in time for this weekend’s Autumn Cruise in Upper Sandusky.

BUCYRUS — Twenty-seven up, twenty-seven down. Wynford outlasted Carey, 37-20, Friday night to jump into a tie for first place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference standings. That’s right where the Royals belong.

For much of the first half, the score looked like a baseball game had broken out Friday night between the Mohawk and Upper Sandusky football teams. The first quarter ended with Mohawk leading 2-0 thanks to a safety of Mason Vent.
