The Carey Volunteer Fire Department and several parents participated in a send-off for Carey freshman Sarah Reinhart this morning in Carey.

Recent high winds have already taken a toll on the beautiful autumn leaves in Upper Sandusky, and raking season has begun. The city will begin leaf pick-up soon and residents will eventually be asked to pile leaves at the edge of their property, but away from obstructions and curbs.

Whole Life Fitness in Upper Sandusky recently completed an expansion, adding a significant amount of exercise room to the business. “We expanded into the area where Mandy (Baldwin) was and changed it from a retail space into an open exercise room,” co-owner Randy Jacob said.

Upper Sandusky native and current state Rep. Riordan McClain was victorious in his first official election for the state’s 87th District Tuesday. McClain won by a landslide in Wyandot County, outpacing Democratic challenger Mary Pierce-Broadwater by a margin of 5,955 votes to 2,005.

The team’s leading receiver came back from an injury that caused him to miss the last six games and had five catches for 96 yards, including four for 85 in the second half when the Vikings ran away with a 40-14 victory against the Warriors in a Division VII Region 26 quarterfinal Saturday night at Warrior Field.

SYCAMORE — Moments after the Mohawk football team suffered a 40-14 loss to Leipsic in the Division VII regional quarterfinal on Saturday at Mohawk High School, coach Brent Konkle immediately began reflecting on the Warriors’ accomplishments this year.
