Carey BOE considers moving varsity softball games

In one place

CAREY — A discussion about moving Carey varsity softball games closer to the school did not result in a decision after a park board public hearing Sunday. Parks Director Brian Spencer said Mayor Jennifer Rathburn and council member Mellisa Cole will compare varsity softball and little league schedules to see if the move is possible.

North Baltimore wins 5-3

MOUNT BLANCHARD — North Baltimore plated three runs in the first inning and held the lead until the end of a 5-3 Blanchard Valley Conference game against Riverdale on Monday. An RBI single put the Tigers up 1-0 before a wild pitch on strike three scored two additional runs.

For the sixth consecutive year, local citizens have gathered on a Saturday morning in an attempt to better the lives of those in need. Approximately 175 people met in the parking lot of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky and built walls for two houses to be given to Habitat for Humanity.

BUCYRUS — Both doubles teams earned championships, and Upper Sandusky won the eight-team Jim Grandy Invitational on Saturday at Bucyrus. The Rams’ No. 1 doubles team of Turner Dilley and Noah Frey and the No. 2 doubles team of Chad Mostoller and Alex Brodman were champions, while No. 2 singles player Alex Engle took second and No. 3 singles player Clay Burger finished third.
