A Lima man was transported via Life Flight following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 23 on Monday morning. At 10:26 a.m., the driver of a semi traveling northbound on U.S. 23 near CH 42 heard a noise coming from his truck and attempted to pull the vehicle over to the right berm. As the semi was exiting the roadway, it was sideswiped by a fuel tanker driven by Terry L. Routson, of Lima, which also was traveling northbound.

Sunday, scouts within the Harding Area District of Scouts BSA gathered together to celebrate another year of achievements — and this year they made district history. A brand-new all-girls Scouts BSA troop was officially recognized at the annual Harding Area District awards ceremony at Emanuel United Church of Christ.

For the 16th consecutive year, Developmental Disability Awareness Month was celebrated by giving a Wyandot County authority figure a simulated disability for the day. This year’s participant was new Upper Sandusky High School Principal Tasha Stanton.

Plumes of smoke poured out of the southwest corner of a home on the 300 block of West 10th Street in Sycamore at about 10:30 p.m. Friday. The Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department requested mutual aid after confirmation of visual flames at the location and vehicles from the Wyandot East and Upper Sandusky fire departments responded as well as the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

COLUMBUS — Carey junior Tanner May leaped in the arms of his coach Ryan Pratt, who carried him about 20-celebratory feet. Pratt also leaped in the air and bumped shoulders with Carey assistant wrestling coach Matt Lawrence, who high-fived Pratt as well.
