Local author and illustrator Kelsey McBride has completed her latest coloring book just in time for Easter. The Easter-themed “Kelsey and Friends in: Hip-Hoppin Easter” finished printing Tuesday and was picked up by McBride at A-1 Printing in Upper Sandusky.

The Upper Sandusky Community Library once again held its annual special story time featuring baby ducks and chicks Tuesday. The event added an extra element of fun to Story Time with Miss Jill led by Jill Stansbery, a youth coordinator with the library.

Upper Sandusky got a second chance in the first inning and could not be stopped after that. Alexis Fogle initially popped out, but an illegal pitch was called, and she delivered an RBI single, and the Rams went on to pound 18 hits in a 10-0 victory against Ridgedale in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Tuesday at Upper Sandusky.

CAREY — Although the Carey softball team took an early three-run lead after three innings, the Clyde softball team responded with four runs in the fifth inning, eight in the sixth inning and another in the seventh to pull away for a 15-6 victory on Tuesday at Water Works Park.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Trailing by four runs heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Riverdale softball team rallied by scoring three runs but came up short in a 10-9 loss to Allen East on Tuesday at Riverdale. The Mustangs scored two runs in the first and second innings, three in the fourth inning, one in the fifth inning and two in the seventh inning to take a 10-6 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.

The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools Board of Education met for its regular meeting Monday at South Elementary School, continuing in its series of visits to district schools. Classrooms were invited to choose projects that they have been working on to share with the board.

SYCAMORE – Mohawk found some offensive success against the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s top pitcher but it could not slow down Bucyrus’ offense in a 12-5 loss to the first-place Redmen on Monday in Sycamore. Paityn Clouse and Tess Weinandy each hit two-run home runs for the Warriors (7-3, 3-3 N10). But it was not nearly enough to match the 16 hits by Bucyrus (9-4, 6-0 N10).

SYCAMORE – Trevor Ley shut down Mohawk and got a five-run fourth inning from the offense as Bucyrus took a 5-2 victory in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Monday at Mohawk. Ley (2-2) limited Mohawk to six hits and no walks with seven strikeouts.

Attendees at an Easter egg hunt Saturday at Waterworks Park in Carey scoop up as many eggs as they can find. The hunt was the second Easter egg hunt held at Waterworks Park.

DEFIANCE — Carey took three victories, including a 5-3 win in the championship game, to take the title Saturday in the Ayersville Pilot Invitational softball tournament. The Blue Devils opened with a 15-4 victory in five innings against Continental and then beat North Baltimore 11-1 to reach the championship against the host Pilots.
