SYCAMORE — A Mohawk preschool teacher recently earned a grant for classroom supplies after placing in an essay competition. First-year teacher Taylor Gillig submitted an application to the We Reward Innovative Teaching Endeavors Grant program through FriendsOffice, which is a concept designed to reward passionate, qualified and talented teachers with unique classroom supplies.

MaKenna Hurley limited Wynford to three hits without a walk and struck out six as the Warriors rolled past Wynford 11-1 in five innings in a Division IV sectional final game Thursday in Sycamore.

Upper Sandusky High School students were given a tour of Wyandot Memorial Hospital Wednesday as part of Ohio In-Demand Jobs Week. Wyandot Memorial Hospital Vice President of Operations and Quality Valerie Schalk, RN, BSN, led three groups of students on tours of the facility throughout the day with a goal of showing the students potential jobs available in the health care field, including jobs the students don’t typically associate with health care.
