BUCYRUS — Mohawk extended its winning streak to seven straight matches with a 25-11, 25-11, 25-9 victory against Wynford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday night. Madi Chester finished with 12 kills, five aces and eight digs to lead the Warriors (7-1, 4-1 N10).

BUCYRUS — Buckeye Central evened things up at the top of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls golf standings with a 197-210 victory against Wynford on Thursday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. Each team has won on the other’s course, leaving the N10 tournament as the likely deciding factor for this year’s championship.

The Wyandot County Infirmary Cemetery Memorial Committee discussed details for the upcoming dedication ceremony and also got its hands dirty with the construction of the memorial at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday.

Upper Sandusky picked up two more Northern 10 Athletic Conference wins by beating both Wynford and Bucyrus in a boys golf tri-match Wednesday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. The Rams shot a 166 to finish well ahead of the Royals with a 191 and the Redmen with a 203.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Katelyn Hildebrand and Hanna Breidenbach each scored two goals as the Riverdale girls soccer team rolled to a 7-0 victory against Columbus Grove in a nonconference match Wednesday at Riverdale. The Falcons (4-1-1) opened up a 4-0 lead in the first 14 minutes of the match.

CAREY — Reducing their service errors by approximately seven from their last match, improving defensively and communicating more often have helped the Carey volleyball team to improve as the season progresses.

The Upper Sandusky Street Department completed its improvement project on South Warpole Street on Tuesday evening. The road was tarred and chipped and was one of the primary road improvement projects budgeted by the city of Upper Sandusky for 2018.

With a strong demand for workers, automotive parts manufacturer Kasai North America in Upper Sandusky decided to get creative. “We’re servicing Subaru for the first time ever and that created a need for jobs where we had 102 openings to fill,” Kasai Human Resources Manager Jennie Dranschak said.

COLUMBUS — Saturday couldn’t come soon enough for the Ohio State football team. Amidst all of the adversity, the question was how much everything that has transpired over the past month would affect the Buckeyes, who took the field without head coach Urban Meyer on the sideline, on Saturday.

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky’s girls were fourth and the boys were fifth Saturday in the Bucyrus Elks Invitational at the Crawford County Fairgrounds. Buckeye Valley finished with just 25 points to win the girls competition by a wide margin.
