Blue Devils improve to 13-0

CAREY — Carey is a win away from closing out a perfect dual season after defeating Colonel Crawford, 171-209, on Tuesday at Bob’s Countryside Golf Course. The Blue Devils (13-0, 7-0 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) can finish unbeaten with a win against Seneca East today.

Kin leads Carey to win

OLD FORT — Sydney Kin had 17 kills and four aces to lead Carey to a 25-18, 25-19, 25-23 victory against Old Fort in a non-conference volleyball road match Tuesday night. Hannah Zimmerman added 13 kills, two aces and a block, and McKenzie Row had eight kills and 14 digs for the Division IV 20th-ranked Blue Devils (9-1).

USHS to hold Senior Citizen Night on Oct. 3

The Upper Sandusky High School athletic department announced Oct. 3 is “Senior Citizen Night” as Upper Sandusky takes on Seneca East in junior varsity and varsity volleyball. All senior citizens will receive free admission to both matches and a coupon for a free drink and popcorn from the concession stand.

Wynford selling Friday tickets

BUCYRUS — The Wynford athletic department will be selling tickets for Friday’s Colonel Crawford at Wynford football game during school hours through Thursday and until noon Friday.

Upper Sandusky High School is searching for an assistant baseball coach and an assistant swimming coach for the 2017-18 school year. Cardinals shut out Raiders to open MFL play

The Cardinals defeated the Raiders, 46-0, in a Midget League Football game Sunday. Offensively for the Cardinals: Gavin Frey, 12 carries for 108 yards, 2 TDs, 2 two-point conversions, 2-4 passing for 80 yards, 2 TDs; Ethan Hill, 7 carries for 97 yards, 2 TDs, 2 two-point conversions, 2 catches for 80 yards, 2 TDs; Justin Heilman, 1 carry for 3 yards, 2-point conversion.

Mohawk 7th grade downs Wynford, 22-0

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s seventh-grade football team shut out Wynford, 22-0, on Tuesday. Zaiden Fry had a pair of touchdowns for the Warriors, while Bryce Hannam threw a touchdown pass to Owen Chevalier. Fry and Jace Margraf had two-point conversions.

Riverdale Invite slated Thursday

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale Cross Country Invitational is 4 p.m. Thursday at Riverdale. The schedule of races includes elementary girls at 4 p.m., elementary boys at 4:20 p.m., junior high girls at 5 p.m., junior high boys at 5:25 p.m., high school girls at 5:45 p.m., and high school boys at 6:15 p.m.
