At the bee

Contestants participate in the competition at “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” a musical production being performed this weekend at Riverdale High School. Cast members include Carson Hagerty, Josh Leopold, Faith Williams, Brandi Borkosky, Mackenzi Thompson, Ethan Rader, Brandi Lynn McCormick, Sam Thacker and Megan Hays.

Palace producing ‘12 Angry Jurors’

MARION — Under the direction of Mark Holbrook the Emmy-award winning classic drama “Twelve Angry Jurors” will come to life April 4-6 in the May Pavilion at the Marion Palace Theatre. Cast as jurors in the production are Candy Boyd, Mike Cochran, Doug Ford, Erica Hunt, Dean Jacob, Leah Menzie, Kaden Schenk, Will Smith, Bob Sullivan-Neer, Brody Thomas, Cameron Williams and Janet Wittenmyer.

OSU Marion staging ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’

MARION — The Ohio State University at Marion Office of Student Life has announced dates for the upcoming student theatrical production, ”Arsenic and Old Lace,” are 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 1 in Morrill Hall Auditorium. Written by Joseph Kesselring, ”Arsenic & Old Lace” is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc., New York, and directed locally by Ohio State Marion alumna and Marion community theater standout Hannah Fuller.

MARION — The Palace Academy of the Arts, located at the historic Marion Palace Theatre, 276 W. Center St. in downtown Marion, is a performing arts program of the Marion Palace Theatre. Program Director Kristi Wink announced the lineup of group classes and private one-on-one sessions that begin Feb. 25 through April 8.
