Sandusky River could cause another death

Dear editor, There have been several fatalities on the Sandusky River over the past several years. I reached out to Rep. Riordan McClain, the Upper Sandusky mayor, the Wyandot County commissioners and Gov. Kasich’s office about looking for solutions. Mike Shanaberger in 2017, Billy and Lewis Zornes in 2015, died, and as I understand, there was another fatality in 2013. …

Homeland Security Secretary Kristjen Nielsen recently received an open letter from members of the Business Roundtable, including CEOs of Apple, PepsiCo and other major American employers. These business leaders expressed grave concern about chilling effects the Trump administration’s policies are creating among much-needed immigrant workers in many industries.

Support the PATIENTS Act

As the facility administrator and registered nurse of the newly opened DaVita Dialysis of Upper Sandusky, I am responsible for our community’s dialysis patients. Patients with kidney failure require dialysis, which cleanses the blood of extra fluid and toxins when the kidneys are no longer able to so.

Don’t host teenage drinking

As prom and graduation season quickly approaches, it is important that parents are reminded of the important role they play in their child’s decision to drink or not drink alcohol. Parents Who Host, Lose the Most: Don’t be a party to teenage drinking encourages parents and other community leaders to send a unified message that teen alcohol consumption is unhealthy, unsafe and unacceptable.
