The Upper Sandusky softball team won its sixth straight game Thursday, 12-2 in five innings over Buckeye Central. With the game tied at 1 after one inning, the Rams (9-4, 5-1 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) scored twice in the second inning and eight times in the third.

Wyandot County Council on Aging is improving safety at Senior Connection with help from a grant and monetary donation. The agency recently added emergency pull cords in the restrooms and an AED portable device to treat a person suffering a heart attack at the center where as many as 50 seniors go each day for social activities and fellowship.

BUCYRUS — Mohawk scored three runs in the fourth inning and beat Bucyrus, 5-2, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday. The Redmen (1-6, 1-2 N10) answered with one run each in the bottom of fourth and fifth innings, but the Warriors (6-3, 3-3 N10) came back with single runs of their own in the sixth and seventh innings.

LOVELL — The Killdeer Pizza Co. is keeping two small-town businesses going. Nearly a year after Brent Barchent and Paul Wagner revived a convenience store in Harpster by offering a signature pizza, they have expanded to the market on Ohio 199 in Lovell.

An Illinois man who pleaded guilty to felony drug charges after Wyandot County authorities seized 4,000 hits of acid and $16,000 in cash during a traffic stop was sentenced to more than five years in prison Monday morning.
