Upper wins tri-meet

Upper Sandusky’s girls and boys were winners in a track and field tri-meet Monday at Upper Sandusky. The Rams girls topped Mohawk 73.5-54.5, with Bucyrus scoring 28 points. Upper Sandusky’s boys scored 73 points, with Bucyrus beating Mohawk 49-45.

Fun fair, bike rodeo help families improve safety

Area families were given opportunities to improve safety both at home and on the road Saturday during the 2019 Family Fun Fair and the Bike Safety Rodeo, which were held at Upper Sandusky High School. The theme of the fun fair was “Fun Around the World,” with multiple area agencies serving young children sponsoring the event and participating.

The Apostolic Gospel Church, Saturday, held its annual 15,000-egg Easter egg hunt at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky. The hunt, originally scheduled for April 20, was postponed one week due to weather.

Wynford High School held its Junior and Senior prom Saturday at Trillium Event Center in Bucyrus. The theme for the evening was “Afterglow” featuring beautiful lights perfect for dancing the night away.

Carey boys win pair of relays at L-B

FINDLAY — Carey’s boys won a pair of relay events while Carey’s girls used depth to take sixth place overall in the Pat Wagner Invitational on Saturday at Liberty-Benton. Andrew Bell, Austin Hertel, Griffin Summit and Bryce Conti were first in the 800 relay in 1:34.48 and first in the 1600 relay in 3:33.56.

Local job seekers were given a chance to connect with employment, training and education opportunities Thursday at the 19th annual Wyandot County Career Expo in the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. The event was put on by Wyandot County Job and Family Services in coordination with Ohio Means Jobs with the help of WCJFS’s Diana Jacoby.

South Sandusky Avenue in Upper vandalized with paint

The Upper Sandusky Police Department investigated a criminal mischief complaint Thursday morning on the 400 block of South Sandusky Avenue after vandalism was reported. An Upper Sandusky man reported finding spray paint on his driveway at 7:43 a.m. Thursday. Responding officers discovered that unknown vandal(s) had taken spray paint cans after 2:30 a.m. Thursday from the back yard of a home on the 400 block of South Sandusky Avenue.
