Educational and career opportunities are available for no cost to eligible northwest Ohio residents through the Ready to Work program. Administered by WSOS Community Action Commission, Fremont, Ready to Work is a comprehensive career education and employment program that offers education, assessment and testing, coaching, support services and job-placement assistance to participants looking to train for and enter a new career.

A grant writing workshop will be provided by the Wyandot County Community Foundation from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 4 in the Bowman/Kirkland room at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, lower level. SMITHFIELD, Va. — Smithfield Foods recently announced the expansion of its grain purchasing and handling operations by adding facilities in Harpster and Morral. The purchase connects grain and soybean farmers with new, global markets while advancing Smithfield’s commitment to supply chain sustainability and proving the benefits of its vertically-integrated structure, according to a press release from the company.

A public inspection of a newly renovated property recently was held at 450 W. Spring St., Upper Sandusky. The 41,087-square-foot building is available to rent for $5,000 per month, with smaller divisions available.
