Brett Montgomery has been playing golf for 12 years — about 80 percent of his life. The 15-year-old Upper Sandusky sophomore ran away with a district title shooting par last weekend at Red Hawk Run Golf Course to qualify for the state tournament.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — When Riverdale freshman Andrew Kuenzli tees off tomorrow at the Division III high school state golf tournament in Columbus, he will become just the second Falcons golfer to do so. SYCAMORE — Sycamore Village Council reviewed bids for the department’s 1981 ladder truck Tuesday night and accepted an offer. Tom Bishop, a private citizen from Tiffin, offered $4,012 for the truck.

When Upper Sandusky decided it was going to win, it made it happen. The Rams overcame a slow start to dominate the second and third sets before closing things out in the fourth set of a 21-25, 25-14, 25-9, 25-22 victory against Wynford on Tuesday night.

CAREY — McKenzie Row served six aces as Carey took a 26-24, 25-14, 25-20 victory against Bucyrus on Tuesday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match. Row was 14 of 15 serving and went 24 of 29 hitting with five kills.

MORRAL — Mohawk finished its regular season with a 25-23, 25-10, 25-18 victory against Ridgedale in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play Tuesday night. The Warriors (17-4, 12-4 N10) trailed 23-19 in the first set but scored the final six points, and they trailed 13-12 in the third set before finishing strong.

TIFFIN — Gavyn Coppus scored a goal in each half to lift Tiffin Columbian to a 2-1 victory against Upper Sandusky in a boys soccer match Tuesday. Coppus scored with 25:18 left in the first half and with 29:59 left in the second half.

The Cardinals shut out the Cowboys, 34-0, in a Midget League Football game Sunday.
