Upper Sandusky High School is searching for a head varsity girls basketball coach for the 2018-19 school year. Available teaching positions are not known at this time.

Upper Sandusky High School and SportsCare at Wyandot Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer athletic physicals for high school and middle school athletes (entering seventh through 12th grades) on May 30. WMH staff and local optometrists will provide physical exams for a $15 donation to the USHS Athletic Department.

Carey’s Phil Vaughn and Sydney Kin have been voted top honors on the All-Daily Chief-Union girls basketball team. Vaughn was named coach of the year, and Kin was tabbed the player of the year.

There was no doubt in Upper Sandusky senior Noah Clary’s mind where he wanted to continue his wrestling and academic career, even as larger universities expressed interest in having him join their program. On Tuesday in the USHS library, Clary, surrounded by his coaches and parents, signed his national letter of intent to attend Lourdes University, a NAIA university that is a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Upper Sandusky’s Jevon Dible and Wynford’s Josh Crall both earned All-Ohio honors Monday. Dible was given special mention in Division III, while Crall earned honorable mention.

It wasn’t just the fact that Don McLaughlin’s victory in the Men’s Wyandot Match Game on Sunday at Wyandot Lanes in Upper Sandusky was his fourth Match Game title that made his victory special. Facing his brother Allen McLaughlin in the finals, they were bowling on the birthday of their mother Judith McLaughlin, who passed away 25 years ago.
