23 innings results in a split

SYCAMORE — Mohawk and Wynford played a combined 23 innings with 54 hits, 40 walks, 13 hit batters, 16 errors and about seven and a half hours over two days. The end result was a split, with the Warriors taking a 12-10 victory in 13 innings in the completion of a suspended game and the Royals winning 12-11 in 10 innings in the second game Saturday at Mohawk.

Rams boys win Shelby 9/10 Invitational

SHELBY — Upper Sandusky’s boys showed a great future in boys track and field by winning the Shelby Freshman-Sophomore Invitational on Saturday. Despite not entering any field events, the Rams scored 96 points to edge Bellevue, which scored 91 points.

Holman leads Wynford at Mount Gilead

MOUNT GILEAD — Lainey Holman led Wynford in the Mount Gilead by placing in four events Saturday. Holman was second in the 200 dash in 27.3, third in the 100 dash in 13.3, tied for third in the high jump at 4-10 and fifth in the 400 dash in 1:04.5 to help the Royals score 27.5 points and finish 10th.

ATTICA — The Northern 10 Athletic Conference title will have to wait until next week for the Carey softball team after it suffered a 3-1 setback at Seneca East on Friday. Hailey Niederkohr homered for the second straight game, giving the Blue Devils (15-4, 12-2 N10) a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning, but the Tigers (10-5, 6-5 N10) pulled the upset with three runs in the sixth inning.
