Seneca East walks off with 5-4 win over Wynford

ATTICA — Wynford coach Jamee Burke had the look of a person who just had the rug pulled out from under her. In a figurative sense, she had. Her Royals took a one-run lead on Seneca East in the top of seventh, but the Tigers came back with two in the bottom of the inning — the second coming with two outs — to defeat Wynford, 5-4, in a Division IV sectional final at Seneca East.

Rams end sectional drought with 8-0 victory

Safe at home

It took six years, but it finally happened. Arik Schneider threw a complete-game shutout, Brett Bianchi hit a two-run triple and Brenyn Marquart hit his second home run in as many games as the Upper Sandusky baseball team overwhelmed Spencerville 8-0 on Wednesday at Upper Sandusky High School.

Good start

WOODVILLE — It is not an ideal scenario for Wynford, but the opportunity for a tournament victory is there. After an hour-long rain delay, the Royals’ Division III sectional semifinal baseball game against Woodmore was suspended by distant thunder Wednesday evening in Woodville.

Rams walk off with 6-5 victory

The winning run

The hit only traveled about 40 feet, but it was far enough. With the Norwalk-Upper Sandusky Division II sectional semifinal softball matchup tied entering the bottom of the seventh inning, junior pitcher Alivia Oney led off with a double, but the next two batters grounded and flew out.
