MANSFIELD — Madie Wagner had a combined for five hits, six RBIs, seven runs and three stolen bases as Wynford dominated a nonconference softball doubleheader at Mansfield Christian, 24-5 and 19-5, on Saturday. The Royals (5-6) asserted themselves right away with 11 runs in the first inning of the first game.

NORTH ROBINSON — The Carey baseball team hung on for a 4-3 victory against Colonel Crawford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Saturday. The Blue Devils (11-0, 9-0 N10) scored twice in the third inning and once each in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 4-0 lead.

ARCADIA — With the seniors gone on their senior trip, Mohawk showed signs of a bright future from its freshman during a 16-0 nonconference baseball win against Arcadia on Saturday. Freshmen Trey Combs and Landen Snyder combined to throw a one-hitter, and Tyler Hayman had two hits, two RBIs and scored three runs.

ARCADIA — Arcadia forced extra innings with a three-run bottom of the seventh and then rallied and won with three runs in the bottom of the eighth in a 10-9 nonconference softball victory against short-handed Mohawk on Saturday.

DOLA — Riverdale’s girls were runner-up Saturday to Leipsic, 97-87, on Saturday in the Hardin Northern Invitational track and field meet. Tiffin Calvert edged Cory-Rawson, 82-74, for the boys title. The Falcons were eighth with 39 points.

CAREY — Trey Bame gave up just one hit in six innings and improved to 6-0 while Carey won for the 10th time in 10 games this year with a 9-0 victory against Buckeye Central in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball action Friday.

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky exploded in the late innings to beat Bucyrus, 15-4, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Friday. The Rams (7-6, 4-4 N10) scored once in the third inning, three times in the fourth inning, five times in the fifth inning and six times in the sixth inning.

CAREY — A 12-run inning, an inning in which all nine batters on the Carey softball team nearly batted around twice, set the tone for the Blue Devils’ latest victory. The Blue Devils also scored four runs in the second inning and two in the fourth on their way to an 18-2 victory over Buckeye Central on Friday at Water Works Park.

CALEDONIA — Wynford built a lead with a five-run fourth inning and then held off River Valley, 12-9, in a nonconference baseball game Friday. The outburst put the Royals (4-6) ahead 8-2.

BUCYRUS — Freshman Caleigh Rister continued her dominant start to her high school career by striking out 12 in Bucyrus’ 9-0 shutout of Upper Sandusky in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play Friday. Rister (4-2) gave up just five hits and did not issue any walks.
