BOWLING GREEN — The Mohawk boys basketball team’s players and coaches got together, clapped their hands and faced thousands of their fans who made the trip to Bowling Green State University’s Stohl Center, all of whom applauded them for the success they achieved this season.

Fogle repeats as All-Ohioan

For the second time in her career, Upper Sandusky senior guard Abigail Fogle has been named second-team All-Ohio in Division II. This season, Fogle averaged 20.7 points per game, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game along with a 43.2 percent shooting percentage on 2-point field goals and a 41.2 percent shooting percentage on 3-point field goals.

BOWLING GREEN — A team with nine seniors, an overall record of 24-1 and six players who were named to the All-Blanchard Valley Conference team, with honorable mention included. Of all the tests that the Mohawk boys basketball team has passed in their most successful season to date — a season that includes their first ever victory in a district game, district title and regional appearance — its regional semifinal matchup with Pandora-Gilboa will be their toughest test to date.

Kin earns 4th All-Ohio honor

CAREY — Carey forward Sydney Kin earned All-Ohio honors for the second time in basketball and for the fourth time in her career Monday when she was named to the Division IV third-team. Kin earned honorable mention as a junior last year in basketball.

Fogle, Hensel, Kin earn 1st-team N10 honors

Upper Sandusky’s Abigail Fogle and Megan Hensel and Carey’s Sydney Kin earned first-team honors on the All-Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball team released Monday. Fogle, a senior guard, moved into third place all-time in Ohio girls basketball history in career 3-pointers made with 329, including making 98 of them this year at a 41.2 percent clip.

NORWALK — A district championship is something the Carey community has waited for since boys basketball began, and it is something the Blue Devils seniors dreamed of since they were children. It finally happened Saturday afternoon with Carey pulling away in the closing minutes for a 41-31 victory against Margaretta in the Division III district championship game at Norwalk.

Clary finishes 3rd at state

COLUMBUS — Upper Sandusky senior Noah Clary’s high school wrestling career won’t soon be forgotten. After losing a match in the Division II 182-pound championship quarterfinals Friday, Clary reeled off four consecutive victories and ended his career with an exclamation point by pinning Hunter Johns of Chaminade Julienne at the 2:25 mark.
