Stately send-off

Community members, family and friends of the Carey boys and girls track teams gathered Thursday afternoon to give the teams a proper send-off. A caravan of supporters led by Carey Fire Department fire trucks with the teams on board drove through Carey before the athletes loaded the bus to head out.

CAREY — Effectively executing their handoffs, practicing their sprints after receiving the handoffs and improving their times have been the keys to the Carey boys 800 and 1600 relay teams’ success this season. Now, the biggest test of the season awaits as seniors Griffin Summit, Andrew Bell and Austin Hertel and freshman Bryce Conti will race in the 800 relay at 10:30 a.m. and the 1600 relay at 12:10 p.m. Friday in the state meet.

Physicals today at USHS

Upper Sandusky High School and SportsCare at Wyandot Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer athletic physicals today for students entering seventh through 12th grades. WMH staff and local chiropractors will provide physical exams for a $15 donation to the USHS athletic department. The money raised will help purchase supplies for district teams.

Soccer camp set for next month

The Upper Sandusky Rams boys soccer camp is June 17-20. Camp for students entering first through fourth grades is slated for 9-10:30 a.m., while camp for students entering fifth through eighth grades is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon.
