Ethan Tanner led the Blue Devils with an 86, with Mckain Miller one stroke back with an 87. Brayden Miller shot a 96, and Carter Frederick and Kole Phillips both had 98s.

Brett Montgomery medaled with a 41 on a day the course played tough at Lincoln Hills Golf Course and Upper Sandusky came away with a 189-197 victory against Kenton in a non-league boys golf match Tuesday. Ben Latham shot a 46, Owen Knapp added a 47, and Matthew Homburg scored a 55 for the Rams (1-0). Gavin Carey (61) and Ethan Collins (63) had scores that were dropped from the team total.

CHICAGO — Jon Diebler had a key steal and layup as Carmen’s Crew closed on an 8-0 run to take a 66-60 victory against the Golden Eagles to win the championship and the $2 million winner-take-all prize in The Basketball Tournament on Tuesday night at Wintrust Arena.

NEW WASHINGTON — Kayleb Keaton and Owen England led Wynford and Mohawk to fourth- and fifth-place finishes, respectively, in the Buckeye Central Invitational on Tuesday at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. The Royals shot a 193, while the Warriors scored a 205. Seneca East ran away with the title over the host Bucks, 149-169, in the tournament shortened to nine holes because of weather. River Valley was third among nine teams with a 179.

GALION — The Upper Sandusky girls golf team opened the season with a 259-267 loss to Colonel Crawford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference match Tuesday at Valley View Golf Course. Kendra Conley led the Rams (0-1, 0-1 N10) with a 62, finishing one stroke back of medalist Katie Reynolds with a 61.

HARROD — Led by Ethan Tanner’s 80, Carey finished in 11th place to open its golf season Tuesday in the Colonial Golfers Club Invitational hosted by Allen East at Colonial Golfers Club. Tanner’s score, which included a 40 on both the front and back nines, was good enough for a tie for fifth place overall individually among 93 players in the 17-team tournament.

TIFFIN — Kayleb Keaton was the tournament medalist with an 80 to lead Wynford to a third-place finish Monday in the season opening Blue Jacket Invitational golf tournament at Seneca Hills Golf Course. Keaton shot an 80 to top Arcadia’s Will Recker by two strokes. The Redskins, though, prevailed as the team champion with a 343, finishing seven shots better than Oak Harbor with a 350. The Royals tallied a 369. Mohawk was sixth with a 406, while Riverdale was seventh with a 437.

CLYDE — Brett Montgomery tied for the top score as Upper Sandusky finished eighth of 26 teams to begin the season Monday in the Hohenstein Invitational hosted by Clyde at Green Springs Golf Course. Galion took the tournament title with a 317 to finish four strokes ahead of Seneca East with a 321. Upper Sandusky finished with a 356.

TIFFIN — Seneca East edged Wynford in a competitive Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls golf match to open the season 221-223, with both N10 teams topping Elgin in a non-league match. The Comets shot a 227 on Monday at Clinton Heights Golf Course.

CHICAGO — Carmen’s Crew knocked off four-time defending champion Overseas Elite 71-66 on Sunday at Wintrust Arena to reach the championship game of The Basketball Tournament. David Lighty scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half for the Ohio State University alumni team, which will take on an alumni team from Marquette University, the Golden Eagles, in the final at 9 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN for the winner-take-all $2 million prize.
