Clark, Miller lead Falcons to 5-0 win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Jackson Clark scored a pair of goals and assisted on another as Riverdale rolled to a 5-0 victory against Liberty-Benton in a boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday at Riverdale. Coby Miller also scored and assisted on both of Clark’s goals, while Drew Frey and Brayden Courtney added goals and Wyatt Price an assist for the unbeaten Falcons (5-0-3, 2-0 NCOSA).

Carey takes 1st set but falls to SE in 4

ATTICA — McKenzie Row had 14 kills and 26 digs, and Carey took the first set but dropped a 19-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-18 decision at Seneca East on Thursday night. Carey’s defense was put to work. Emma Wagner had a team-high 27 digs, while Ellison Roark finished with 26. Roark was 15 of 19 serve receiving, Row was 13 of 13, and Makenzie Snyder was 13 of 15 and added 11 digs.

Buckeye Central overwhelms Wynford

NEW WASHINGTON — Wynford improved after a very slow start but it was not enough to stay in the match with first-place Buckeye Central in a 25-7, 25-13, 25-19 loss in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Thursday night.

The Upper Sandusky junior high softball team, sponsored by East of Chicago, won the Summer U14 Hancock County championship (first), the Hancock County junior high spring championship (middle) and the Liberty-Benton 14U Classic championship (last) this past season.

Rams’ Montgomery wins 4th N10 player of year honor

Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery earned his fourth straight Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf player of the year award by leading the league in average once again. Montgomery, a senior, finished with a 35.9 nine-hole adjusted average, meaning he finished one stroke below par over the course of eight N10 duals and the league tournament. Seneca East junior Jake Forehand was a distant runner-up with a 37.5 average.

Red Devils sweep Falcons

ARLINGTON — Abbie Sheets had 15 kills to lead Arlington to a 25-15, 25-11, 25-13 victory against Riverdale on Wednesday evening in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match at Arlington. Tayler Ashburn and Grace Wetherill each had five kills for the Falcons (1-9, 0-6 BVC). Wetherill added an ace, and Ashburn finished with five digs.
