Wynford girls teams get wins

BUCYRUS — Wynford’s eighth grade girls basketball team made 12 free throws in a 35-28 victory against Upper Sandusky on Thursday. Khelsie Berry and Grace Stuckey had 7 points each to lead the Royals.

Falcons’ pressure overwhelms

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Using a halfcourt press defense, Riverdale was able to force steals and turn them into points, leading to a 51-22 girls basketball victory over Ada on Tuesday night. Riverdale improves to 4-4 on the season, while Ada falls to 1-4.

Horsley leads Eagles past Warriors

SYCAMORE — It was Danielle Horsley’s kind of game. The 5-foot-9 senior post player thrived through physical play by scoring 18 points and grabbing nine rebounds on a night when offense otherwise was hard to come by, leading Colonel Crawford to a 31-21 victory against Mohawk on Tuesday.

Upper girls win Tiffin tri-meet

TIFFIN — Upper Sandusky’s girls won big while the boys tied for first in a swimming tri-meet Tuesday at the Tiffin YMCA. The Rams girls scored 90 points, with Tiffin Columbian edging Tiffin Calvert for second 47-43.

Wynford boys swimming splits at Kenton

KENTON — Wynford’s boys swimming team edged Bellefontaine but lost to Kenton in a tri-meet, while the Royals girls lost both Tuesday at the Kenton YMCA. The Royals boys topped the Chieftains 46-44 but lost to the Wildcats 63-29.
