Falcons swept by Vikings

LEIPSIC — Paige Heitmeyer had five aces and five kills as Leipsic won a competitive first set and then rolled to a 25-19, 25-11, 25-11 victory against Riverdale in Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball play Wednesday at Leipsic. Liz Scheckelhoff had eight kills, and Kasey Brough finished with six kills for the Vikings (17-1, 8-1 BVC). Lyndie Hazelton passed out 20 assists.

Wagner milestone helps Carey sweep

CAREY — Carey senior setter Emma Wagner knew she was close to a milestone. Wagner entered Tuesday’s match versus Wynford with 996 career assists, and with her team leading by eight points in the first set, she set up a kill by McKenzie Row, giving Wagner her 1,000th career assist. She ran into the stands and handed the ball to her parents.

Bellevue tops Upper 4-1 in finale

Upper Sandusky’s girls tennis team closed out the regular season with a 4-1 loss to Bellevue on Tuesday at Upper Sandusky. The Rams (5-11) got their only win from the No. 1 doubles team of Saki Fukuta and Mara Smalley, who beat Leighann Motley and Sage Garcia 6-1, 6-4.

Mohawk wins big

BUCYRUS — Alexa Konkle and Emma Thiery had five aces each as Mohawk rolled to a 25-15, 25-6, 25-11 victory against Bucyrus in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Tuesday at Bucyrus. Paityn Clouse had eight kills, Catherine Klopp finished with seven, and Tess Weinandy had six for the Warriors (11-6, 8-4 N10). Konkle added 23 assists.

First-place Bucks too much for Rams

NEW WASHINGTON — First-place Buckeye Central rolled to a 25-8, 25-14, 25-15 victory against Upper Sandusky in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday night. Lexi Evak led the Bucks (14-3, 12-0 N10) with 10 kills, while Alivia Niese finished with seven kills and two blocks. Kendra Ackerman had six kills and added three aces.

Collier 6th, Weber 7th in Crestline Invite

CRESTLINE — Juleigha Collier was sixth in the girls race, and Eli Weber took seventh in the boys race to lead Riverdale on Tuesday in the Crestline Invitational cross country meet at Amann’s Reservoir Park. Collier finished in 22:27.54. Teammates Liviya Benjamin and Isabella Renteria were 26th and 52nd, respectively, in 24:50.15 and 27:22.15.

MARION — Emily Hill finished with 10 kills, three aces and 17 digs to lead Upper Sandusky to a 22-25, 25-10, 25-15, 25-9 victory against Harding on Monday night in Marion. The Rams (7-10) were dominant the rest of the way after dropping a close first set.

Black Knights shut out Rams 4-0

VAN BUREN — Van Buren scored a pair of goals barely over two minutes apart in the first half to pull away for a 4-0 victory against Upper Sandusky in a girls North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Monday. Leading 1-0 after a goal in the second minute of the match by Belle Miller, Van Buren (7-5-1, 2-1 NCOSA) got goals from Mady Parker and Aysia Currie at the 18:20 and 16:09 marks in the first half to take command 3-0.

Ontario sweeps singles to top Upper 3-2

ONTARIO — Upper Sandusky won both doubles matches but dropped a 3-2 decision to Ontario in girls tennis action Thursday at Ontario. The Rams’ Saki Fukuta and Mara Smalley rolled past Claire Henige and Elizabeth Corn 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles match. In the No. 2 spot, Upper Sandusky (5-10) got a 6-2, 6-0 win from Hannah Frey and Sarah Scott against Priya Das and Abi Perez.

Pandora-Gilboa sweeps Riverdale in BVC play

PANDORA — Mikayla Simons had 11 kills, while Lacie Fenstermaker had eight as Pandora-Gilboa defeated Riverdale 25-11, 25-18, 25-16 in Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball play Monday in Pandora. Makayla Kinsinger was a force at the net with eight solo blocks, while in the back of the defense, Madison Hovest and Fenstermaker contributed 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
