NEW RIEGEL — Kaitlyn Kirian pounded 19 kills in just three sets as New Riegel swept Mohawk 25-20, 26-24, 25-23 in nonconference volleyball action Monday at New Riegel. The Warriors (13-7) trailed in all three sets but made late comebacks in each of the final two sets that came up short.

RIDGEWAY — Riverdale lost to eventual champion Ridgedale 25-16, 25-18 and defeated Lima Perry and Kenton 23-25, 25-22, 25-19 to take third in the Keegan McKee Memorial Invitational volleyball tournament Saturday at Ridgemont.

Mohawk led all area volleyball teams with a No. 4 seed in district draws held Sunday.

Undefeated Riverdale earned the No. 3 seed and a bye into the sectional finals in boys soccer draws held Sunday.

Riverdale is the No. 6 seed and Upper Sandusky the No. 9 seed in the Division III girls soccer Findlay district, and both are going on the road to face a fellow North Central Ohio Soccer Association opponent.

MARION — Upper Sandusky’s girls finished 10th and the boys 12th on Saturday in the Marion Harding Invitational cross country meet.

NEW LONDON — Led by Kaylynn Maybee’s sixth-place finish, Mohawk’s girls finished fourth in the Dan Olien Invitational cross country meet Saturday at New London.

MARION — Riley Messersmith scored a pair of first-half goals as the Upper Sandusky girls soccer team picked up a 4-1 victory against Pleasant in a non-conference road match Saturday.

COLUMBUS — A missed field goal. A first quarter in which it finished with 16 total yards of offense — 15 of which were on one pass — and only three points.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk dominated the first set and then won a pair of close sets to sweep the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s second-place team Seneca East 25-9, 25-23, 25-23 on Saturday at Mohawk.
