NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford scored twice each in the second and third innings, and that was plenty for ace Sydney Studer, who shut out Carey, 4-0, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday.

VAN BUREN — Van Buren scored three times in the bottom of the fifth inning to rally from an early deficit in a 5-3 defeat of Upper Sandusky in a non-league baseball game Monday.

NORTH ROBINSON — Mohawk’s girls topped Upper Sandusky for the girls championship, and Seneca East’s boys topped the Rams for the boys title in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference junior high championships Saturday at Colonel Crawford.

NORWALK — Hit batters and errors piled up in a four-run second inning, and Norwalk used them to take control in a 7-0 Division II baseball sectional semifinal victory against Upper Sandusky on Saturday.

SYCAMORE — Tournament play started without a hiccup for Mohawk baseball on Saturday. The No. 3-seed Warriors topped 13-seeded Vanlue, 8-1, in Division-IV sectional semifinal action. Mohawk (14-8) hosts No. 7 Danbury in a 5 p.m. Wednesday sectional final.

CAREY — The Carey baseball team failed to find an offensive groove Saturday, and finished with just three hits and no runs, and the sixth-seeded Blue Devils fell at home to eighth-seeded Edison, 6-0, an overcast and rainy morning.

ADA — Carey’s girls finished third to lead area teams Saturday in the Ada Invitational. Van Wert was the girls winner with 97.5 points, while Ada topped Carey, 75-65.5, for second. Mohawk was eighth with 48 points.

SHELBY — Upper Sandusky’s boys took sixth Saturday in the Shelby Freshman/Sophomore Invitational. Shelby had 93.5 points to win, with Bellevue second with 88 points. The Rams scored 36.5 points.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Mo Britton and Quinten Bails pitched Ridgedale to a pair of shutout victories over Riverdale, 4-0 and 5-0, in a baseball doubleheader Saturday.

BUCYRUS — Bucyrus scored nine times in the first three innings and then got two more in the sixth inning to take an 11-1 victory against Wynford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Friday.
