Short-handed Royals no match for Bucks

BUCYRUS — Buckeye Central is challenging enough as it is, and Wynford had to go into its battle with the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s second-place team without its top two players. The result was a 79-24 victory by the Bucks.

Rams ranked No. 1 in Ohio

Upper Sandusky’s boys basketball team is ranked first in the state in Division II in the season’s first state poll released Monday evening. The Rams (12-0) earned 87 points in the poll to edge Trotwood-Madison by three points and Ottawa-Glandorf by three five points.

Junior high Rams finish 4th in meet

Upper Sandusky’s junior high wrestling team placed fourth Saturday in the Fostoria dual meet tournament. The Rams beat Fostoria, 87-6; Gibsonburg, 7-16; and Van Buren, 76-18; and had close 48-45 losses to Elmwood and Findlay Glenwood.

McLaughlin bowls 2nd 300 game

Allen McLaughlin rolled a perfect game during recent Tuesday night Classic League play at Wyandot Lanes. In nearly 25 years of bowling, McLaughlin had recorded scores of 299 twice before knocking down his first 300 in December 2015.

Mohawk stops streak

MORRAL — It was quite a weekend for Mohawk sophomore forward Chris Klopp. After having perhaps his best game of his short varsity career to that point on Friday night with 10 points against Upper Sandusky, Klopp had 14 points Saturday evening to lead the Warriors to a 49-46 victory against Ridgedale.
