Mohawk having parent meeting

SYCAMORE — Mohawk High School will be hosting its fall sports parent meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 in the Performing Arts Center. The general meeting will be followed by individual sport meetings.

Registration deadline Friday

SYCAMORE — The Sycamore Soccer League is accepting registrations through Friday. Area players who turn age 5 by Aug. 1 through eighth grade are welcomed for the recreational league.

Beitler wins Tree Town Trot 5K

FOREST — Wesley Beitler was the overall winner of the Tree Town Trot 5K held Friday at Gormley Park in Forest, finishing in 19:04. Kayla Beitler was the overall female winner in 23:55.

Marcus Miller, who will be a junior at Carey High School, scored a hole-in-one on No. 5 at Stone Crossing Golf Course on June 24. He used a 9-iron on the 152-yard par 3, and the feat was witnessed by his grandfather.

Montgomery 2nd in HOJGA tourney

GALION — Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery was runner-up in the 13-15 division in the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament Monday at Valley View Golf Course. Montgomery shot an 81, finishing two strokes behind winner Max McCloy, of Pleasant.
